COVID Updates from the Alberta Government
We are pleased to bring you Alberta’s COVID-19 updates announced on December 15th.
Rapid Test Kits
As of today, Rapid Test kits containing five tests will be available to Albertans free of charge at select AHS locations and pharmacies while supplies last. This will allow Albertans to do a simple COVID test at home. Learn more at alberta.ca/rapidtesting
3rd Doses of
Albertans aged 50 and older, and all health care workers, are now eligible for a third dose provided it has been 6 months or longer since their previous vaccine. Visit bookvaccine.alberta.ca or call 811 to book an appointment.
Indoor Social Gatherings
Indoor social gatherings are no longer limited to two households. Indoor social gatherings can now be up to 10 vaccinated or unvaccinated adults. There are no limits for children under the age of 18.
Individuals attending larger gatherings should do their best to wear masks and physically distance where possible. In addition, it is strongly recommended that Rapid Antigen Test Kits are used to test attendees – especially if they are unvaccinated.
Outdoor Social Gatherings
Outdoor social gatherings remain limited to a maximum of 20 people, with 2-metre physical distancing between households at all times.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues into yet another fall and winter, we are also preparing for the increased spread of another virus: influenza, more commonly known as the flu.
Flu cases were low last year because we were in a province-wide lockdown. This year, however, we’re seeing more people socializing in person, commuting to work, travelling and being out and about in the community.
This means we will likely see an increase of all viruses compared to last year, including COVID-19 and the flu.
To help protect our residents – who are most at risk of experiencing serious complications due to the influenza virus - flu clinics have been held at all of our sites. We encourage families to help us keep our residents safe and healthy but booking their free flu shot this year.
Recreation Calendars
Our recreation team is working hard to create engaging activities that enrich the mind, body and spirit. We are continuously looking for ways to reduce the risk of transmission while having the least impact on resident well-being.
