Great Opportunities for Caring People
We hope these weekly updates are helpful. Thank you all for your continued support.
AgeCare Harmony Court in Burnaby is hatching a very special treat for residents … Pekin ducklings!
The Recreation Manager at Harmony Court reached out to a family farm in Langley that offers ‘Eggucation’ – a hatching program for schools and care centres. They provide three fertile eggs and an incubator so people can share in the joy and wonder of hatching ducks, chicks, or quail.
The staff and residents at Harmony Court are having fun taking watchful care of the eggs – awaiting the arrival with great anticipation! Everyone is excited that they get to keep and nurture the ducklings until they are two weeks old! The Recreation Department is planning lots of fun programs for the residents, including swim time, duckling races, gender reveals, and on-on-one visits!
Keep watching in the weeks to come, and we will introduce the Harmony Ducks!
Cheers to Our New Graduate
Hats off to Emily Bazell, who has been employed as a support worker at Monashee Mews through the Health Career Access Program (HCAP), which was provincially funded in BC. Emily previously worked at AgeCare in our Hospitality sector but left to start a family.
Now she is back and is both a mom and a registered HCA after successfully completing the HCAP program! Congratulations and welcome back to the AgeCare family!
